How I spent my Saturday . . .
Block 2 of the Lace Cabins is complete :)
The miniature quilt blocks are three dimensional and the "snow" is stitched with a glittery, iridescent thread. It was a bit challenging to work with because it doesn't stitch like cotton thread, but I really like that it looks like shimmering snow.
I stitched the snowman in the same thread. The fluffier "snow" is actually dimensional yarn with an iridescent ribbon woven around it.
All the "joints" of the tulip lace have an iridescent bead sewn over them.
I can't think of anything else to add to this block, but if I do, I'll let you know :)
The lace cabin was done mid afternoon, so of course I had to have another project to work on, but I didn't really want anything to involved.
So I pulled out my scrap vortex. I managed to get three more blocks quilted AND I put the row together AND attached it to the first row.
Yes !!! I'm very excited to have gotten this much done for a Saturday.
Honey Do and I spent mid-day gathering supplies for several other projects that I want to work on, so all in all a very good start to the weekend.
Thanks for stopping by,
Wishing you a day filled with countless blessings.

Lace Cabin is beautiful - love that thread. Where did you get it? It is masterfully worked. So nice to see the Scrap Vortex grow so much! I'm presuming it was not quilting or stitching project Honey Do was helping you gather supplies to do! I'm guessing garden?
