Goal Report for the week of July 15, 2018

My goals for July 15, 2018 turned into the goals for July 22 and now through the end of the month. I actually didn't even get to post what I wanted to do.

My reasons, well, my whole week turned itself upside down with Newton working a four week program through the rest of summer. This was week one. He only works a five hour shift, four days a week but it's in the middle of my day . . . 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. I'm dropping off and picking up. I've been to the library, grocery store, quilt shops every day this past week. I did manage to do some reorganizing and a tiny bit of purging. Lots more to do there, so it's going on my secondary goal list again during the coming weeks.

So here's what I managed to accomplish:

1. Starry Night
- assemble July block

Done
No stars this month, I'm calling it the "black hole". Quilted as well as the "weaving".

2. Mystery #3
- continue stitching

I managed to get blocks 4 and 5 finished. One more to go and then I start the assembly process. This one is on target for completion to the big reveal at the end of September. Here's a sneaky peak. Doesn't give much away, does it?

3. Fall into a Quilt
- download pattern(s)
- assemble block(s)

Behind, again !!! But got it done !!!

4. Nine Patch Challenge
- assemble blocks

Decided not to do this one. I've got too many other projects in progress and UFOs that aren't getting my attention.

5. Bee
- applique June blocks 2 of 4 are done, 3rd one is in progress
- review July installment yes, looked it over.

6. Christmas
- pull fabric for PJs

no progress here

7. UFO - Maggie's First Dance
- layout blocks
- begin assembling quilt top

DONE
The entire top has been assembled.

8. Dining room curtains
- pull fabric
- decide on style

Done
Now just to get them sewn and on the window.

Bonus projects:

9 patches for a Halloween project

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Monday Goals

I didn't have any specific goals for Monday. I got my chores done early, so it was easy to start working on something. But what.

I promised to share my supply of Halloween fabrics with a special friend, because I don't share with just anyone :)

So it seems like a good time to work on the Halloween projects I've been putting off to make sure I have what I needed to finish those projects. None really take a lot of fabric.

So here's what I accomplished:

Nine patches

Then I moved on to Maggie.
I started this project back in June, 2016 !!!
I can't believe it's been that long !!!

Saturday, I assembled all the alternate blocks that had been prepared back when I started.

And here's where I am after a day of working on it.

It's not finished, I still have borders to add, but I made good progress. And that makes me very happy.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

HQAL

It's been three weeks and I feel like I have some things to report.

But first, let me thank Kathy for hostessing this event. Make sure you check her site for her progress and that of the other ladies who are participating.

And what have my hands been accomplishing . . .

The entire quilted wall hanging was done on the machine except for the binding and the little ceramic beads that I added for embellishments.

This one was pieced and appliqued on the machine, but there was a little hand embroidery on the front and again the binding.

I'm also participating in Mystery 3 QAL, the big reveal is September 30. I can't show you the sweetest set of six embroideries I'm working on just yet, but I'm almost finished with them. Only two more to go and I can start putting my quilt together. I am absolutely thrilled with the progress there and especially the results. Can't wait to share them with you.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Verse of the Day

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Monday, . . . Tuesday . . .

I hope your Monday is going well.

I had a very productive weekend as my goal report attests too. Not everything got done, but I was very happy with my results.

And we're back to Monday. I love Mondays. I've told you that before. I've recharged over the weekend, doing only the necessary chores . . .
maybe some laundry . . .
definitely cooking . . .
planning for the coming week . . .
some walks . . .
reading and relaxing.

My television wasn't on much this weekend. I have several books I've been reading/listening to and have been wanting to finish them. Typically, I only read at bed time and fall asleep so it takes a really long time to finish a book. Audio books are contingent on how often I leave the house and for how long.

So I've started listening to some of my books while I sew. I'm on the second one in the last week and one more in the car. Yes, I can keep track of the story lines without getting confused.

The main building is an architectural beauty. The far left is a new addition, but doesn't take away from it's presence and integrity.

I started listening to books when I still worked for an attorney. The main branch of the library was across the street and had a really nice reading garden. Audio books allowed me to watch people (a major distraction for me) and still listen to a story. Reading meant I'd re-read the same sentence over and over.

So my Monday started with the usual chores and then I we went out to weed my flower bed. It looked so sad and neglected.

We made some good progress. I can't thank Newton enough for helping me. It's amazing how much faster things go when you have help.

This is the other half that still needs my attention. I'm hoping to finish this on Tuesday (mind you, it's supposed to rain).

This is Rocky's new playmate - he found it in my vegetable garden.

As for sewing, I finished assembling what I could of the second row of the Color Bears.

It's not done here, but I did do it :)

I cut out the pieces for the color block.

Tuesday started with the usual chores. Not as many today since the bulk of them get done on Monday, like laundry and vacuuming.

Then to the sewing machine.

I did finally get it put together and quilted. It's ready for the next row.

Lots of running around and phone calls had to be made on Wednesday. The week is just flying by, hoping your's has been more productive.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Summer Fun

Summer Fun . . .

These are some of the fabrics I chose to use in my "Summer Fun" wall hanging.

Bright, colorful, fun.

And it's a finish !!!!

Pieced, assembled, quilted, bound and on display !!!

Continuing with the "fun" theme, I made my sunflower in a less traditional print. Isn't she pretty?

The snail trails are "waves" . . .

 a pretty purple butterfly . . .

Ohio star is one of my absolute favorite blocks

and how cute are these bugs? What's summer without bugs?

Quilted and bound. I used several different decorative stitches from my new machine for quilting.

This was a free project from The Crafty Quilter, with whom I'm linking up this project.

I don't think it's too late to download your copies and make one for yourself.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Verse of the Day

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
