Bridal Hearts

An opportunity was offered to make make heart blocks to be included in a bridal quilt.

A free pattern was given (link), as well as paint swatches for the colors.

The bride grew up before our eyes on mom's blog and this opportunity allowed us to be part of the celebration and inclusion to the next chapter of her/their life.

This is such a cute, fun pattern. I liked it so much I decided to make some for myself. There are measurements for hearts from 4 to 10 inches. I chose the 4 inch size.

As I made the hearts, there was a bonus block. As I trimmed the corners, I sewed them and made these adorable tiny pinwheels.

I've never made anything this small. They are so cute. Like the hearts, they have no specific plan. So I will just save them until something inspires me. I see more tiny blocks on the horizon.

Have a blessed day.

John Wayne

 John Wayne is finished!!!

In time, under deadline !!!

I'm very excited !!!

These are the in-progress photos. The leaf print in the upper right is the backing I chose - using what I have.

I saw the panel on another blog a couple of years ago. I used a wave stitch on my domestic machine to do the quilting. It is my go to stitch because it is very forgiving. I wasn't sure I was going to like it, but I do very much.

I used the same stitch to stitch diagonal lines on the borders. Solid browfor the binding.

This is a gift for the father-in-law.

Special Birthday

I was privileged to spend last Thursday with my sister and celebrate her birthday. She was on vacation all week and had plans to do things around her house. I was able to help with some of that, although most of it she had to do on her own.

Both of us really enjoy spending time together and it's not always about chores and working.

For her birthday, we got to play :)

I ordered this collection of "woodflowers. It's is just one of the projects we worked on:

Needless to say, we had a good time.

Goals - March 15

Goals for the week of March 15:

1. Bind John wayne

2. Assemble Stitch 52

3. Bind table runner, baby and doll quilts

4.  Calendar Girl - April

Continue stitching

5.  Pillow Cases - make a set of two from leftover panels

6.  Riley Blake SAL
Make blocks 1 - 5

I'll get some sewing time in with a few of these projects.

Have a good week.

Goals for March 7, which I didn't get to post the blog, so here's what got accomplished:

Quilt and bind John wayne.

All quilted and ready for binding.

Assemble Stitch 52 blocks - still needs done

Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Green
Make baby quilt, doll quilt, table runner

This is the table runner. The photos make it look more yellow, but it's that in between that makes you wonder which it is. I decided green and the large floral is the backing. All quilted and ready for binding, along with the baby and doll quilts.

The Mile-A-Minute Calendar Afghan.

And I carried that yellow-green color choice into my afghan.

Up to date and I really like how well it's coming together. It's being assembled as I go. I don't want another ufo and it's actually pretty easy.

Lots of sewing this past week, a little stitching.

This next week will be a lot more hand work with all the binding. Putting in an audio book and going to town :)

Have a good week.
