Another snow day !!!

These numbers are VERY deceptive. A high of 20 degrees today? I don't think so. We had negative windchills again this morning. Enough so that not only was school closed today, but my Bible study was cancelled.

The house is at a constant 67 degrees, but I'm feeling just enough under the weather that I'm really cold. The dogs go outside, but it only takees them a few minutes to take care of things and they're ready to come back in the house.

With it being so cold, I'm perfectly content to stay home and in-doors. To that end, I'm trying to find things to keep me busy. My monthly craft goals have been met, next month's already started :)

So I've been putsing around with some new little projects, until I come to a road block:

The first project I pulled out is a UFO from a couple of years ago. This is where my love affair with houses. This was a block of the month that stitched up very quickly.

And aren't they just adorable?
I spent Saturday evenign adding the buttons to the borders for embelishments. The pattern had little flowers or leaves or snowflakes or whatever was appropriate, but I wanted to add some dimension and chose the buttons. My favorite month ended up being May - I love the boy and girl buttons.

Next up, I found a pin cushion project in a Gooseberry Patch book. This is as far as I got, using a green chillies can for the "pail". The felt colors I needed/wanted, I didn't have. So maybe Wednesday I'll run out and get them with the buttons I didn't have for the house quilt. But so far, very cute :)

Next up, this cute stitchery from Jenny of Elelfantz. Jenny offered it as a free tutorial for a journal cover. I would like to turn mine into a needlebook. So far I'm just at the stitching stage. Fortunately, my hands are warm enough to stitch - if slowly - but the typing not going quite as well. Thank goodness for spell check :)

I fussy cut my flower centers and am matching up the threads to do the stitching. Hoping this to be finished by Wednesday. We'll see if I can hang in. I've managed to get a head cold. The aches, sore throat and tender tummy are not helping my focus.

So what else is going on . . .

The Apron Swap

The rules are here and here.
The deadline for signing up is February 26, 2015. So if you are still on the fence, the deadline is quickly approaching. Time to make a decision.

I'm signed up - this is going to be fun. I've participated in a couple of other swaps and have enjoyed them. So it didn't take much to convince me to join this one :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with creativity.

I gave in and am doing the apron swap, too. I may yet be sorry. =) I love your houses. Was that a free bom, or one with a pattern? If it was a pattern, do you remember the name of it? I love the look of it. I'm feeling too lazy to create my own! Okay, I'm not going to gripe about how nasty it is here any more. Really. No. Really!
