Slow but sure progress

I've set myself up with another goal.
After talking to a friend about gardening and perspectives.

Her perspective:  Anything you don't enjoy doing is work.

Yeah, that's not my perspective on gardening . . . or at least weeding :)

So my goal:  work in the garden until I fill one trash can everyday, Monday through Friday until the gardens and yard are all cleaned up and pretty again.

I made a good start this week. I have two cans filled. I didn't start until yesterday. I have more than enough to do, but with this goal I won't feel so much like it's a job and as you can see, it doesn't take long to make decent progress. I'm really hoping to be able to get mulch in the next few weeks to make it the finishing touch.

I spent Tuesday morning with BF. We had a great time sharing progress on our projects. She's working on a pre-printed baby quilt for her great nephew due at the end of summer. I'm working on Block 3 of the lace cabins.

This block only has one tree and this section is about half complete.
I haven't been very diligent with my stitching the last couple of nights.

BF's local Walmart had fabric on sale. I know that it's not quilt shop quality fabric. I knew that going in. But at 10 cents a yard . . .

Did you catch that?

10 cents per yard !!!!!!

Yup, I had to at least go and look.

I found a Waverly that was a peachy orange and clocked in at 8 yards.

I chose these two polka dots to make curtains for my dining room.
It's hard to tell from this photograph which is actually better suited.
BF liked the lighter color (the dots actually match the wall color) and suggested seat cushions in the darker.
Honey Do likes the darker because of the contrast, stating the lighter blended in to much.
BF also suggested making tab topped curtains and embellishing them with like colored large buttons.
For now, they are leaning up against the wall until I decide on color and style before I do anything else :)
I'm open to suggestions and opinions, if you want to share :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with countless blessings.

I can see both points of view - the bane of my existence. LOL My suggestion is to unwrap a length of both and clothespin one to one side of a window, and the other to the other side, or a different window. Then stand back and take a look to see if one says, "Me, me, me!" Then take a good photo and enlarge it on the computer and look again, because sometimes the camera sees something the eye missed. I bet you'll know by then which way you are going. I really like the tabs and buttons idea.

Loving those lace cabins so much, Edith! I'm astonished at the .10/yd fabric, wow...love the dots, I agree with Susan about how to tell which you want for curtains. That's exactly what I'd do.
