We got snow overnight Thursday. It was just enough to convince me to stay home. On top of that Honey Do wasn't feeling 100%, so he stayed home from work and Newton is still on spring break.
It was the perfect day to play with my new machine. It's very quiet so it wouldn't keep anyone awake. I spent the day cutting out and sewing my "color challenge" block for March. I'm a little behind on my goals and am trying to catch up.
Flying geese are not my favorite block to make, but these instructions were so easy to follow and I'm thrilled with the way this block turned out. Now I feel like I'm making good progress on this week's goals.
I also want to share a new quilt along with all of you.
This is your link to the rules, which are very friendly. There is one fabric requirement to keep us all somewhat uniform, but everything else is very user friendly. We just completed the first Mystery QAL and this one began on April first. I decided on a project, pulled from my stash and have to order the required fabric. I spent part of Saturday tracing applique pieces and prepped my stash fabrics. I'm not waiting until the end to work on this one. I spent Monday evening cutting out the components.
Thanks for stopping by.
Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Your flying geese block looks great! I love making them, but I do them Eleanor Burns way, so it's pretty easy. I made 16 of them today for star points. I have more to make, plus I have to make them on another project ... if only I can remember which one it is!
You made progress this week in spite of so many other things going on. My QAL fabric came this week. I'm of two minds about those greens. I might have to take it to the store and match in person. At least one of the greens was batik, so it won't go to waste! I can't believe how cold and snowy your spring is! I'm sure you don't mind so much when you have that great machine to play with, though! Hope your mom is doing well. I know Joe is, since he's right under your eagle eye. =)
Sick sick sick of snow, aren't you? Seems like winter won't let go - although your hike pics look amazing!!! I hope you're able to get to know your new machine better, I always find a new one very intimidating...your block looks wonderful, I do love flying geese but have never attempted them, my piecing is atrocious. The quilt is darling! Hope everyone is coming along well, you are all in my prayers, hon!
