Squishy Mail

The best kind of mail is squishy mail.

About a year ago I was invited to join the Tilda Club. I had a source for Tilda, but she was getting out of the business and it was something I wanted to do for me, myself and I.

I have loved Tilda since being introduced to the fabric at Elefantz. Tilda is readily available, albeit very expensive.

It was a no brainer to sign up and every month I look forward to this pretty little box coming to my house.

When I open it, there is always a sweet message and I especially liked this one:

Under this pretty little post card, is the gorgeous bundle of Tilda fabrics !!

Each bundle tied with these pretty little ribbons.

A sweet little bundle of coordinating fabrics.

Pretty florals, checks, dots, stripes . . .

and little bumbly bees :)

But wait !!!!

Notions !!!

Always things we can use :)

I love squishy mail (even in the a box) !!

Hope your week is going well.

Thanks for stopping by.

Don't worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, thank him for all he has  done.
Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. He will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Productive Week

Are you tired of hearing from me yet?

It has been a very productive week and I'm still going.

Some more finishes this week. Just ticking things off the goal list :)

This cutie was a prize from a year or so ago. Actually I won a gift certificate and I purchased two baby quilts. I gave one to my niece last week for her new born son, and this one I will put in the gift closet for a future little one.

These are face masks, an even dozen. I was scrolling through my facebook feed and ran across a local organization looking for volunteers. They delivered the supplies and I put them all together yesterday. A really simple design and I was glad to help. I will deliver them and see if there are more supplies to be acquired.

Hope your week is going well.

My Sewing Machine is on Fire

(image from Yahoo)

LOL

First of all, I didn't really expect to find this image!! I LOVE IT !!

It has been such a productive week in my little corner of the pandemic.

A baby quilt finished.

A  lap quilt finished.

Both of these are donation quilts in association with Hands2Help.

And my chosen recipient. This organization helps kids in foster care, something near and dear to my heart.

I'm excited to have these done and hope to have a few more done before the end of the drive.

Once the initiative is complete, I will check into providing these quilts to a local agency who will do the same in my area. I know there is a need. I'm looking to do more for my local community.

Hope you all have a good, productive week.
Stay safe and healthy.

One Monthly Goal - the finish

And it's a finish !!!

I Love Home
designed and given freely by
in 2017.

It will no longer be available at no charge, but Jacquelynne always has something going on and does great work. I've done several of her quilts.

This one was stitched in 2017, and the blocks were all done but for one.

I finished the last block and assembled the top in 2019 as a monthly goal.

This year, I wanted it completely finished. I have been very focused the last few years on getting UFOs and PHDs out of boxes and on the bed, wall or given away.

The quilt consists of these four little houses, each block is a different setting.

I embellished them with cute little, sometimes not so little buttons. I love these striped buttons. They made great flowers.

The design was originally meant to be a wall hanging, so in retrospect, I should have enlarged the houses so they would have been more present, but overall, I'm still pleased with the way this quilt turned out.

What I learned:
I used colors and combinations outside my usual comfort zone.
I would have enlarged the main focal design.

I love that it's big enough for my bed and that just took a little extra time and fabric that I already had. I might have had to purchase the final border, but that would have been all.

Hope you all have a good, productive week.
Stay safe and healthy.

After the Storm(s)

About a week ago, I went to sleep lulled by thunder and lightning. So many people don't like storms, but I find the comforting in the noise and strength. Apparently, it went on for several hours. The news in the morning reported trees damaged and uprooted, power outages, even tornados. An inch of rain fell.

I walked my yard in the morning with the dogs. We had minimal damage, mostly just branches.

There's always debris with I don't mind gathering. It's a time of reflection. This particular morning I was thinking about pruning. The necessity of it. The pain and aches that are present at times. The joy that is usually the end result. It's not always a bad thing.

Pruning helps the growth and overall health. Keeps the decay at bay.

It helps to look past the surface and the facade. Go deeper. There is beauty there.

So we've had rain and . . .

With rain loving feathered friends - because I set up the birdbath right under my dining room window so I can watch them come and go.

 And snow !!!

It started mid-afternoon and this is what we woke up to.

By lunchtime, it was all gone.

In the meantime, I'm keeping busy indoors.

I made a doll-size quilt from a mini charm pack I had laying on my cutting table.

I sorted and played with my Tilda fabrics.I'm behind making blocks, so I wanted to get started.

And I finished Betsy's Closet, one of my goals for April.

Hope you all have a good, productive week.

Spring has Finally Sprung

We've been blessed, enjoying some beautiful days in between the cold, rain and sometimes snow.
Rocky and I came upon this gorgeous tree walking around the park.

The sunshiine and warmer temperatures have not only the dogs, but me, wanting to be outside more. So why not do double duty? They get to run and play and I get to clean up. Honey Do did some mowing last week and I did some basic yard maintenance.

I raked leaves and picked up branches. This is a very small dent in the half acre that needs to be maintained.

What is done looks really nice and encourages me to do more.

Because there is plenty more to do. I use the cans as goals, attempting to fill at least one per day.

The daffodils appreciate my efforts.
The cooler temperatures are keeping them blooming longer this year.

And my favorite rose bush survived the winter, not that I was too worried since it was such a mild winter.

Hope you all have a good, productive week.
Stay safe and healthy.
