HQAL -June

Some ho I missed posting this. So I'm doing it no even though it's late.

Since we last posted, Covid 19 has pretty much ruled our lives. Things have been steadily opening up. Not sure I feel all that good about it, but I continue to stay home as much as possible and that doesn't bother me in the least. I love being home. It's a rare occasion for anyone to be able to get me to budge from my nest.

I continue to be amazingly busy working on various projects. I'm not so amazed how quickly three weeks have flown by. Here's the link to see what everyone else is doing. Our group is growing :)

Kathy, thank you for being such a gracious hostess.

The most recent Stitch 52. Three more done. A total of seven have been completed so far.

Sunday Stitching Journal
The pages get more involved as we move along and are taking longer. I have several that are not completed yet and the instructions for making and assembling the book have arrived. I have six pages completed.

Psalm 23
This is the first page and was my 12 Things goal for May. I'm behind since the fifth page has been published. I'm not going to rush this project. I am enjoying the stitching. Jenny used tiny scraps of fabric to applique things like the bird, but I've decided I would rather stitch and I love the way my bird turned out. Other changes I made were to satin stitch LORD and I used the fly stitch on the leaves. Like the fabric applique, these fill-in stitches add beautiful pops of color and texture.

Bird Song block 3

Like Psalm 23, I'm using stitches I haven't played with in a long time or techniques I've never used before. on this flower, it called for 12 strands of floss, I used six but I like the bold effect. The leaves are stitched down with "veins" and not the blanket stitch all around them, like I did for the stems.

I did blanket stitch the wings because they are bigger pieces, but I added the feather stitch for detail. I think it's pretty.

Hope you all have a good, productive week.
Stay safe and healthy.

Thanks for stopping by.

Don't worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, thank him for all he has  done.
Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. He will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

Phillipians 4: 6-7
