At the beginning of March, I told you that I had signed up and received my partner information for the Apron Swap hosted by Jenny and Wendy.
As I've finished making an apron (and two), I remembered reading on Jenny's blog about a "magic apron". To further jog my memory, I was playing around on Pinterest and found this pin:
I fell in love with the lines and the fabric of this apron. So I did some searching and wound up on this website. If you follow the links, you can download a copy of the instructions to make your own "magic apron".
I was both surprised and excited. Back in January, Jenny posted a blog about a "magic apron" that she had made. Because of that blog, I purchased the book.
I found mine on Amazon, which is my absolute favorite place to purchase books. You can get gently used for literally pennies :)
I'd read the instructions when I got the book, but to be perfectly honest, I was more than a little intimidated by them. About mid-March I pulled out a piece of muslin and set about making a "pattern".
After about 30 minutes I have a "pattern" !!!!
I think I'm going to shorten it a bit, it comes well to my knees and I would like it just a tad shorter, but I was very pleased with the end results.
All that's left to do is choose my fabric and make the apron and I think I know exactly which piece of vintage love I'm going to try first :)
Thanks for stopping by,
Wishing you a day filled with creativity.

Nice teaser. I can hardly wait to see your apron.
I would just love to participate in an apron swap! I may have to some day when things slow down. I would just love to have a ton of cute aprons but I can't seam to stop sewing quilts long enough to make one. Besides, I don't know if I could do a very good job. I better practice up and improve my skills and confidence before I even consider a swap.
I love it!
