Mom's Thursday

Rocky and I spent most of the day with Mom. The weather held out beautifully. It was a cold start, but the sunshine was gorgeous - as you can see, Rocky took full advantage of it. Mom was really happy to see him. While I straightened up, Mom did some sorting and purging. Yes, 'tis the season :)

I came home to no phone service and after 45 minutes of trying to figure out what was going on, I was told there was "outages in Michigan and Ohio". How frustrating !!!
I don't know about you, but when I try to make a phone call I expect the phone to work. In all of our technology you'd think it wouldn't take that long to find out it's not you :(

I made dinner and cleaned up. I was just tired enough that I couldn't settle on a specific project. I need to work on my spring and patriotic row-alongs, but knew better than to try and cut out fabric and try to sew.

I settled on this project.
I found alphabet silouhettes on line, enlarged and printed.
Tonight, I traced the letters on fusible webbing that will be adhered to fabric.
I'm making these for my 2 year old great nephew. His 9 year old brother will get a kick out of helping him learn "his letters".
I found the idea on Pinterest :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Great idea, and with different texture fabrics, there are some adjectives that could be learned, like rough and smooth, shiny and dull. I'm glad you had a nice day helping your mother. You are so fortunate to be able to do so.

What a great project, should be fun seeing them play with all the letters.
