A few chores, a few chapters, a few stitches . . .

It's Monday :)  I used to hate Mondays, but that's when I worked full time.  Whatever didn't get done on Friday was a priority.  It was no longer the weekend, so no more lazing around, relaxing.  Work and chores battled for attention.

About six years ago, Honey Do and I switched rolls.  He went to work full-time and I stayed home full-time.  We attempted to both work and Mom watched the boys when they got home from school.  That only worked for a few months and the boys just got to be too much.  I hated staying home at first.  I'd worked full time my entire adult life.  I married later, so I always worked, took care of myself, had my own financial freedom.  All that changed.  It was quite the adjustment !!  One I did not embrace and struggled with for at least the first two years.

These days, I look for excuses to stay home.  I want to have a clean home, a well-maintained yard, good food for meals and time to read and craft.

In fact, I usually plan too much in my days.  So much so, in order to stay on-task and focused I make a to-do list almost daily.  I've eliminated making them for Sundays.  I've decided to honor God's command to keep the Sabath, so Sundays are days that I will do the daily dishes, make a meal and then stitch or read.

I'm about half way though James Patterson's Alex Cross series.  This series is a pretty quick read.  I have several favorite authors and keep up with their book lists and new releases.  I always have at least two books going at a time.  One in book form and one audio that's in the car.  I don't like commercial radio, so I listen to a book instead.

Have you seen these yet?  You can still download them free from Here.  I've decided they are my next "quick" project.  Honey Do has to go out of town at the end of the month for work and I get to tag along. I love these weekends because I get a whole day to do what I want while he's working hard :)  So I've decided these adorable little houses are just the right ticket.  I'm going to draw them off this week and pull the floss and they will be ready to go.  I've checked and have a list of quilt shops to visit in the area.  And there's a Chinese restaurant we tried last time and I want to go back again for dinner.  I wasn't able to go on the last business trip, so I'm really ready and looking forward to a weekend away.

In the meantime, I finally feel like I'm making some progress on Beauty.  I'm stiching my third additional block.  I'm hoping to have this one completely finished in the next couple of weeks - if not sooner.  I want sooner :)

My blogging buddy, Wendy, posted on her blog today a series called Aiming for Accuracy Quilt-Along.  I'm going to check this out.  I'm a relatively new quilter and accuracy is a goal of every quilter so I want to see what I can do to get better.  And what better way to learn than from some free instruction.  Thanks Wendy :)

Thanks for stopping by.

Wishing you a creative day.
