Arctic Freeze 2019

This perfectly describes Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
It's a weather phenomenon that brings the Arctic winds from the North Pole all the way down to us and beyond.
These conditions are very dangerous and not to be taken lightly.

I didn't. Tuesday, I ran my errands and got the few things we needed like bread and milk (I know, cliche). But it really was all we needed to keep me sequestered at home to ride out these two days.

The plan for the two days was to stay put and sew. There was no school and definitely too cold to go anywhere. I was thrilled to have an excuse to do just that.

It's also the last week of the month and there are goals to be met.

The majority of my focus was working on my UFO for the month. These sweet bears. They are all made and assembled. The next step is a small red border all the way around and then the final border. I was hoping to meet the January deadline, but I ran out of time. It should still be done over the weekend.

I received this cute little print in the mail today. It is part of a mystery quilt along I'm participating that deadlines in March.

I'm auditioning fabrics and trying to decide on a layout.

On the domestic front, besides the normal household responsibilities, I made breadcrumbs. I've been collecting the "heels" for a while and was gifted several loaves of crusty bread that got cut up and dried for this purpose. It always feels good to not waste what we've been blessed with.

I pray that everyone is safe and trusting God to keep them that way. There is more inclement weather all around the world. I'm sure we all know someone, somewhere who could use an extra prayer for God's grace and mercy.

Thank you for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with things that make and keep you happy.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

The bears are adorable! I just love the way they look together. BTW, I think I have 5 quilts on my bed! Soooo, what are you doing with the breadcrumbs?

Adorable bears!! Are those the ones Moira designed? So many weather-related disasters around the world...if we didn't follow Jenny, we would never know what was going on Down Under! Wish I could lift her house up on stilts!!! Our weather just said we are looking at a 96 hour winter storm starting on Sunday!

Those bears have turned out so cute! I grate my stale bread for bread crumbs as well! They are perfect for when I make meat loaf and so handy to pull the bag out of the freezer. The things I've learned from my mom growing up during the Depression. :) Things have warmed up here, hope the same in your part of the world!
