Tuesday Goals

This is Tuesday's goals . . . it's also my dining room table. And this is too often how it ends up looking. I pick things up as I walk around the house and it ends up on my table.

After Bible Study, I ran some errands, walked Rocky and decided it was time to tackle it. I sewed over the weekend, so I hope you don't think it looks like this all the time. My sewing machine is somewhere in this pile . . . LOL.
Most of these things are organized projects and small errands that need my attention.

Have you seen this book? I've borrowed it several times from the library, whenever I run across it on someone's blog or Amazon. Today it came home to live with me for the unbelievable price of fifty cents !!!! The library regularly pulls books from their shelves to make room for new and puts the discontinued books up for sale. You have to check almost daily to not miss anything. Today I lucked out.
The potential for lots of little gifty items is huge !!

So on to the table . . .

First I made this card a while back,

the problem is sometimes double sided tape lets go,

I reattached the interior pocket and am taking it to Mom to use for my great niece who has a birthday later in March.

Next up,

my sister has a birthday on March 11th,

and rummaging through Mom's craft supplies (yes, I come by my abilities honestly) we found this wooden tray that was in her inventory when she did home parties for Creative Circle.

The box included this beautiful stitchery that I claimed immediately . . .

Until I saw my sister's initials in the bottom left corner :(

I told Mom I would be happy to finish it for her, but we really did need to give it to my sister . . . ho hum :(

It is another finished project. Isn't it beautiful???

Now a couple of projects for me :)

I finished stitching the bug's legs and antennae for January's block and

And I finished block 2 of the bee.

Wednesday's goals are getting Mom to the cardiologist and released for surgery (which happened :)

Home on Thursday and the plan is to work on Mystery QAL - I'm desperately behind on that project !!!

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Bees and planning

We were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous day last Tuesday. This was 9 a.m. !!!!
I'm trying not to get too excited because this time of year it just doesn't last.

Case in point, Wednesday started out almost that warm and progressively got colder. By noon, we were back down into the lower 40s. Overnight was forecast around 32. That and it rained almost all day, we were looking at a messy, frozen commute for the next morning.

So you all know that my days and weeks have been crazy busy this year with the addition of helping Mom get through some of her health issues. And of course, I LOVE my sewing and stitching. I also have a really hard time saying "no" to all these gorgeous, fun, free quilt-alongs and blocks of the month.

Keeping track of appointments for four people now. Newton and I have the fewest and Honey Do pretty much takes care of his own. I've made it my responsibility to get Mom to and from her's because my brother and sister both work full time.

With the help of my planners, I not only stay on top of appointments, but chores, meal plans, bills, and posts.

All of the blocks of the month I subscribed to this year are published at the beginning of the month. Unfortunately, it's taking me the whole month to get them made.

This is this month's color challenge bear. He's too cute.

I also signed up for a couple of BOM kits that are delivered by pigeon. That's right, United Postal Service.

Block two arrived over the weekend. I finished Block one just in time.

Aren't these just the cutest???
I did get the eyes put on, just not a new photo.

There's a shop in Florida I found on facebook  last year. This is the second project I've ordered from them. The first one is started but not finished and for another blog.

Here's your link to Stitches of Love. Brittany and Julie are wonderful to work with and they have some of the cutest designs you'll see anywhere.

The bees are meant to be a wall hanging, but I'm going to figure out a way to make them into a "Queen Bee" size quilt.

I prepped more blocks for Friday and weekend sewing, but took some time make these yummy coffee cake muffins. Since our gorgeous Tuesday turned into a damp and chilly Wednesday, I wanted something yummy to go with my tea.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Goals for the week of 2/18/18

Last week was supposed to be pretty quiet. Mom only had one doctor appointment and the weather was cooperative, snow melted and we got some rain. That gave me four of five days at home. Prayers that didn't change.

Wednesday evening Mom called and said the doctor wanted her to go to the emergency room to rule out stroke symptoms. Long story short, she's fine and another follow up Monday.

(image from Yahoo)

Monday's doctor visit was the most positive we've had in a month. Next Monday we go for blood work and on Wednesday next we see the cardiologist. He's the one who will release her for surgery. God is in all of this and prayers are being answered.

Now for timing of surgery, because Honey Do goes in for surgery on March 5. . .  we wouldn't want me to get bored, would we? :)

So my week wasn't quite as productive as I would have liked but I did make some progress.

Here are my goals for the week of February 19, 2018:

1. Dresden plate
- Stitch at least one seam daily

2. Mystery QAL
- Assemble at least two blocks

3. Blocks of the Month
- Finishing prepping blocks
- Assemble blocks

4. UFO
- April showers wall hanging

5. Charity project
- Begin quilting baby quilt

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you days filled with kindness.

Blog Overload . . .

(Image from Pinterest)

Warning:  you are going to go into "blog overload" today !!!

Yes, I'm blogging again !!!!

It's another quiet day at home, light snow, no appointments, and nothing requires me to leave the house today.

So I started my day in the kitchen making dinner.

Pork loin and vegetables for dinner. Doesn't it look yummy?

From there, I'm moving on to finish the ThermoWeb Christmas wall hanging that I've been putting on the list since December when it first appeared on their website.

And it's completely finished !!! Finally !!!

All this productivity made possible by another day at home due to the weather :)

For those of you who hate winter . . .

I LOVE IT !!!!

Verse of the Day

Taking a deep breath

I've been feeling really overwhelmed lately. I always have plans to get so much done, but because of of how long things always take and going to mom's, things just didn't pan out.

I'm definitely not complaining. I work on projects as much as I can and try to have had work available when I'm just not able to sit at the machine.

Tuesday started out rough. I wasn't feeling 100%, so the morning was pretty quiet. Once my stomach settled and I ate something, I was able to work on my Growing Up quilt.

This isn't the best photo, but you get the idea.
I just want it done. I've been trying to finish it for five weeks now.

So I spent my Tuesday working on it.

And other than hand sewing the binding - - -
IT'S DONE!!!

I also worked on the second CQJP2018 block and am making good progress I think.

I still have work to do on the first block, but these ideas hit and I wanted to do them before I forgot. There will still be some bead work added, but not yet.

And one final finish . . .

This plastic canvas cube is for the children's program in my Bible study. I started it at the beginning of last summer. When we took the carpet up in July, I put it away and promptly forgot about it. It was finally time for it to reappear and get finished. This is one project I won't miss.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

REPORTS . . .

Time to report . . . . albeit late !!!

Hand Quilt Along (HQAL)

Just to reiterate, this is any type of hand work, not just traditional hand quilting. I find it so satisfying and encouraging that there are so many blogs hosting as many different ways to encourage us to try new things, hand down traditional methods, finish long neglected projects and to encourage each other with cheerleading and kind words no matter what our passions are.

I tried to work on my Dresden plate every night doing at least one different stitch. I was hesitant to begin, as I am with most projects, but am really enjoying my results.

That leads me into my 15 minute challenge.
I was able to stitch at least everyday, but time on the machine wasn't quite as productive this week. I managed Monday, Thursday and Saturday. All three days were at least two hours. Again, I don't keep exact records ;)

My time was spent working on the Growing Up QAL. I've managed to get three rows completely sewn/quilted.

And finally, Stash report.

1/2 yard sash/framing for Growing Up QAL
This is coming from my stash.

New in - zero 1 yard valentine's

1 5" charm pack

In between traveling to Mom's a couple of times this week and trying to stay home, we got more snow!!! I know !!!

How about 6 inches of snow over night !!!!

Never a dull moment here :)
