Thanksgiving and a finish

To all my beautiful friends and family!!!

I enjoyed the day with my husband, son and mom. We cooked, ate and relaxed. Mom did some knitting and I did some stitching as we chatted. I hope everyone had a lovely day.

One of the groups I belong to has a UFO Weekend every month. As a group member, I was graciously invited to participate.  Of course, I accepted!! I have a mountain (only a slight exaggeration!) of flannel leftovers from years of making pajamas for the greats. I needed to do something with them.  I have decided to pull the feminine prints and make a scrap quilt. My time was spent  sorting and cutting all the scraps into usable blocks.

I put all the blocks together into eight rows. The blocks are five inches square. The quilt worked out to a 36x60 inches. I found a leftover piece of batting and two pieces of flannel that I sewed together for the backing.
I did machine quilting and by Thursday morning, the binding was complete.

The quilt is ready to be sent off to it's new home.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with the things that make and keep you happy.

Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

HQAL - November

How does three weeks fly by so quickly ? ! ?

To see what everyone else in the group has accomplished, you can check them out here. There are new members, so new things to ooh and aah over :)

As for me . . .

I have finally finished stitching the last of my Girls Getaway. They will be put away until January then I can concentrate on finishing the quilt. I've already started my goal list for 2020. Have you?

My next project getting some undivided attention:  My Vintage Kitchen.

There are a total onine, the first our were done in previous weeks.
This will be another project that gets finished in January when I have a little more time.

And finally, Gingerbread Village. The first block is stitched !!!

It has been a busy month and I am very pleased to have accomplished this much. Looking forward to getting all these projects completely finished.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with the things that make and keep you happy.

Finally Sewing !!!

It's been a long time trying to get into the sewing room. I have wanted to sew but it just wasn't happening.  I managed to get some hours at work last week which was a very good thing. And the promise of more soon. I did some cleaning, also a good thing. Bible study and preschoolers :) There as even a little time with Mom!!

As for stitching, I managed to get the rest of my Vintage Kitchen caught up.

I will finish the project in January when there is a little more time.

I managed to finish the first Gingerbread Village house. I need to check and see how many more there are so I can get them caught up.

I have been working on bowl cozies. I joined a swap that had us make and exchange these. They are quick and fun to make. I also made extras to put in the gift closet and just have them on hand.

I also managed to find some time for Suburbs. If you remember, I started this project at the beginning of October when Susan came for a visit. I was really hoping to have the top finished by the end of October, but that didn't happen.

All the houses are done, and by the end of the weekend all of the trees were assembled as well.
Next step is to begin to assemble the rows, hopefully over the weekend.

Autumn in NE OH - full to empty, finally some frost.

We had a decent afternoon one day last week. These trees are all in my backyard. Leaves are coming down fast and there is even snow in the forecast.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with the things that make and keep you happy.
