Who's time is it any way?

In a previous blog, I mentioned that my time wasn't my own sometimes. As a person who doesn't work full time outside of the home, you would think you would have all the time in the world to do whatever you wanted.

That doesn't work for me anymore, it used to, but I'm ok with that. Most of my time these days is spent between doing things for Mom and my guys, or spending time with my guys.

I spent Monday with Mom, we had a visit with the surgeon who is very pleased with her progress and wants to see her in about a month. She's anxious to be done with PT and OT. I don't blame her, they come four times a week between them.

My weekends have been surrendered to Honey Do and Newton, as we spend whatever time we can carve out and our bodies allow to go hiking.

Saturday - Brecksville Metro Park

Some pretty and interesting fauna.

I don't know if you can see the little bird, he found a moth and wasn't going to let go no matter how long I stood by to take my photo.

Deer Lick Cave
We spent quite a bit of time looking around and investigating this area.

Newton was still the little kid at times.
The "king" of his own little mountain :)

Sunday - Rocky River Metro Park

Rocky has a great time running and sniffing everything he comes into contact with.

There is always some interesting trees and the wildflowers are finally starting to bloom.

This tree broke and I found the layers very interesting.

We saw a couple of men fishing in the river, which is where the park got it's name. And you can see it's very high and hilly. I expect this terrain when we are in southern Ohio, but it always takes me by surprise when it's local.

Needless to say, we had a couple of very nice days for hiking together. We covered 3.5 to 4 miles each day and the temperatures were in the mid to upper 60s. We didn't see 70s until Monday.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

HQAL Report

It's time for another check in. . . . I'm not sure how much I accomplished, so let's see. And considering I'm posting late again, we know that my time is typically not my own. That's for another blog :)

I made progress on several projects, only two are actual hand work.

Mystery QAL #1 - sandwich and began quilting.

My Color Challenge block is done and quilted, completely by machine.

My Color Bear block is done, again by machine.

My last Holly Cottage block is stitched and I worked on the February Crazy Quilt block, just no pictures.

I got a bunch of leaders/enders done on the machine :)

I also got the March and April (no picture) done. Again, an absolutely adorable block.

All the other ladies posted and you can find their posts here.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Mid-Week Recharge

The best to for me to re-charge is on Wednesday.
It's become my "stay-at-home" day.
Got the guys off, laundry going, dinner thawing, and the rest of the day is mine to sew.

My goals for the day were:

Mystery #1

Got the final border on. I chose a green tonal print just a bit darker than my sashings. AND I was able to get it to queen size.
To say I'm pleased is an understatement.
Next up sandwich and begin the quilting.

Color Block

Had it cut out, all that was left was to put it together.

and one more for today, Color Bear.

It was a good, productive day.

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

North Chagrin Reservation

Saturday was chilly, but we headed north to the reservation. This is another leg of the metro parks in our area. It took about 30 minutes to drive and Susan and I were in this area when she came to visit last August.

It's a very hilly area, but you can see the green coming through and I did manage (sometimes with Honey Do's help) to locate some floral amid the fauna.

We enjoyed over five miles of hiking and poking around the "castle" and surrounding "woods".

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Verse of the Day
