Great Beginnings, Great Expectations

My week is off to a great start !!!

After dropping Newton off at work on Monday, I rode over to my church. I had reserved a room so that I could layout my Maggie quilt.

After about an hour, I have everything layered and pin basted. I can't tell you how excited I am to have this step done.

Honey Do came home from work with a couple of pizza boxes. Thought this was a little strange because lunch out at work isn't until Fridays. And he doesn't usually get pizza.

Imagine my surprise when he handed them to me and I found these !!!

The beginnings of two quilts or wall hangings.
This oriental design has four prepared blocks as you see in this photo. Enough to make a twin or throw size quilt. Mom loves things oriental. I'm going to finish this for her.

And maybe for my sister, a wall hanging of birds. She feeds birds at her house. Has studied them enough to know the breeds and calls. This one could also be a small throw if I chose to add more borders. I'll figure it out as I go.

And one more project. This is a long term, on-going one. But my heart is full :)

This is Sammie, she's four years old.
Honey Do was having a hard time watching the news and hearing stories of all the neglected and abused. He stopped last weekend at the no-kill shelter. He had his eye on an 18 month old moose of a dog. But when we went to see him, he was just too big and strong for me to handle when I'm home alone.

I chose Sammie because of her sweet disposition. And someone has worked with her because she sat on command and gave paw when asked.

Today, that commitment grew with the addition of Sugar.

She's one of Sammie's puppies, eight weeks old. And we are completely and totally in love with her.

Our house is full. As is our hearts. We always have a soft spot for a lost soul that needs some lovin'

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Verse of the Day
