Pleasant time at home and a long weekend

Tuesday, I spent the day with Mom. She had some errands she wanted to run and I had a stop I wanted to make.

The ride home was pleasant enough, with the promise of rain.

It was overcast and the promised rain came in sheets and I ended up soaked.

I finished my monthly block obligations (self-imposed) on Monday and that freed me up the rest of the week to work on my other (self-imposed) obligations, more fondly known as my "goal list".

I'm still aiming for getting my Mystery #1 quilt completely finished by the end of May - next week for anyone not keeping track.

I finished quilting the next three blocks on Wednesday. I already had two done. Thursday, I finished the sixth block. That leaves just the sashing and borders to quilt in the next week. I think I can do that.

I spent some time on Wednesday and Thursday putting in my new baby plants and pulling the rest of the weeds that grew over my floral bulbs from last year. On to the flower beds.

I hope you all have had a good week. Not sure what we have planned for our long weekend. Everybody's home for three days. I'm sure there will be a walk in there and maybe some fishing, as Newton is asking Honey Do. And maybe a good book for me :)

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with kindness.

Verse of the Day

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age,

Titus 2:11-12 NIVUK

Hubby and I got soaked Monday evening, we went grocery shopping and when we came out it was a monsoon, lol! Lovely lovely quilting, girl, and that little hedgehog is so stinkin' cute.
Not sure what we're doing for the holiday, Saturday we'll be celebrating my brother's birthday, should be some new fawns by then too....last year, they were ALL born on his birthday! Enjoy your book if you get to it!~

I love your little hedgehog.. reminds me I need to decide if I am joining in or not :) Your garden beds look great, and I am sure they appreciated the soaking more than you :) xx

We are expecting rain over the next few days, so had a rush to finish all the planting to take advantage of cooler days and rainy nights. 😄 That hedgehog keeps popping up and I may succumb....Congrats on finishing the quilting for Mystery #1!

Your stop was for more plants? Lowe's had theirs for 50% off today. Stacey got enough to fill the back of her SUV for $13. Some veg, and some floral. I didn't go look. I don't want to find more to plant!

I did look at my hydrangea and see 3 blossoms coming on. Stacey gave it to me - this is the 4th summer, I think, and it's never gotten over about a foot tall, and the two blooms it had were eaten by ants. Well, there are a lot of ants out there, but it's about 18" tall, I think, and it might actually bloom! The sedum has buds all over it, too, and the other thing I can never remember the name of. LOL

So I guess all this rain was good for something aside from giving Stacey's grapes black fungus. =P

I guess blogger problems are worked out because I'm showing up as me again, and not anonymous!

I'm not sure if blogger is fixed or not. I didn't receive any of these comments, so I'm sorry I didn't get back to any of you.

Thank you for your comments. You are all so appreciated :)
