And the snow arrived, my prayers were answered.
I know that just doesn't sound right. It's been quite a few years since we've had snow like this and I honestly missed it.
I accept that I am in the minority.
Good thing I enjoy my own company :)
There was a lot of blowing and drifting.
The neighbor was up at 6 a.m. !!!! to plow his driveway.
There's more snow coming in those clouds.
And it's just pretty !!!
These are all from around 8 a.m. Sunday morning.
"But wait !! There's more !!!"
Honey Do went out around 9 a.m. to start the digging out process which will end up taking most of the day, I'm guessing.
Going down the drive to the street.
This is at the back door . . .
I made sure the ruler went down to the concrete and this measurement includes blowing and drifting. It got windy and stayed that way all day. The temperature has dropped and it's gotten really cold.
The apron, Honey Do said it was a lot of snow !!
And you can see the depth at the sidewalk. It's cleaned up for the neighbor lady that walks every where, several times a day.
Round two - lake effect arrived around 11 a.m. just as Honey Do was finishing up. It looked like this off and on all day. It would clear up and then going back to minimal visibility.
We went out about 2:30 p.m. Rocky ran out and back in, not even long enough to take a picture of him. The big dogs stayed a little longer, but not much. That north wind doesn't let anyone stay out for very long. They spent the rest of the afternoon napping. I think I should join them :)
This is how our day started.
There was clearing off and on, but then it would snow again. There wasn't any accumulation, just flurries.
My Bible Study pre-school class was cancelled due to the weather on Monday, so I quickly changed my day and came up with some goals. Here's my progress:
I'm caught up with drawing off Jenny of Elefantz's 2018 In the Garden Blocks of the Month. I got behind due to holidays, work and Christmas sewing. My goal for January is to get all those BOM caught up.
To that end, I did my November Color block challenge. Still need to do December.
I was also behind two of the bears for the Color Bear Challenge. All the pieces are drawn off and ironed on to their fabrics. I need to cut them out and do the applique onto the block.
I also drew off four more book marks. I've shared the other ones I made :)
So a very productive Monday. I still need to get my 15 minutes stitching challenge done, but that won't be a problem.
Tuesday is for Bible study and errands, and there are a few of those, so the only plans I have crafty-wise is to work on my stitching challenge in the evening.
So my next goal day is Wednesday:
1. Bear Color Challenge
- cut out pieces
- applique block
- quilt block
- assemble row
2. Color Challenge
- make last two blocks
- quilt blocks
- assemble row
3. Sewing class homework
- prep block for next class
4. 15 minute stitching challenge
Wishing you a day filled with things that keep and make you happy.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
