More snow . . . More cold . . .
Most recent estimation is 20+ inches. It's starting to feel like a very long winter. Not that it's really any longer than it ever is, just seems like it.
It was a gorgeous day, but the sunshine is deceiving. The temperature didn't even gut into the teens.
I spent my Thursday re-stitching Jenny's Vintage Kitchen.
I am absolutely in love with the sage-ish green on butter yellow. I'm not the least bit sorry I changed my mind.
The mailman was sweet to me today. He brought my January Quilter's Garden swap block.
It even has it's own quilt hanging from it. Absolutely love it. The pictures don't do it justice.
I was hoping to work on this month's block, but another project has come to the forefront that needs immediate attention.
Last summer our Vacation Bible School fourth, fifth and sixth graders made these tropical themed coloring blocks for their community service project. A number of women from my church put the quilt tops together, sandwiched and quilted/tied them. Unfortuantely, there are still some out, but I volunteered to bind three of the quilts that are in the final stage of completion. So I'm spending my weekend binding these quilts so they can be passed along to those children they were intended. I am so very blessed to be able to have a hand in this project. Many of my on-line and blogging friends give their time and resources for such projects and I count myself blessed to be among their ranks even for a bit. There are so many worthwhile organizations that can make sure of our skills and talents. I'm proud to be among the ranks that try to help wherever they find a need.

That sun shining on the snow looks wonderful....cold I imagine, but something I'm not particularly familiar with here in the tropics....it does look appealing! Why is it we always wish for something we dont have? Started to get our monsoonal rains yesterday....late this season and very light compared to other years.....so the temps have cooled from the mid-high 30s down to the mid-high 20s....so much more pleasant. I do adore your Vintage Kitchen stitcheries too...and yes, I agree....the sage green on butter yellow is P-E-R-F-E-C-T. Good on you for offering your services in binding those quilts....always so rewarding!

Darling quilt shop! Mine isn't here yet. Jealous! LOL That was a good reason to put your pincushion blocks on hold. =) Plenty of time still - 3/4 of the month! My plans today didn't go as expected either.
