Weekend catch ups

I spent my Friday getting some projects together.

This is part of an event called 52-week challenge. I didn't fully understand the parameters and am getting a late start. But I'm going to run with it even though I'm behind. This one is for a churn dash, which I've never made before. It's supposed to be really easy, but I'm being challenged by it. But I'm going to persevere. To make it a challenge, I'm going to incorporate the Farmer's Wife Quilt Sampler and plan to make one new block per week. I'll keep you posted on my progress :)

Another challenge. This one is a mystery quilt. Not only did I get the components cut out, but I've started sewing on it. I still need to pull a few more colors and the next step.

I also cut more squares from scrap flannels left over from years of making pajamas for nieces and nephews and kids for Christmas. These will make scrap quilts for same said children :)

Do you ever have those days when you want to work on something? Need to work on something? But don't really feel like working on anything? That was my Friday evening. I spent way more time running around town than I had intended or planned for so that I ended up not getting anything accomplished. So by the time dinner and dishes were done, so was I. I finally pulled out my sparrow pattern and a few other Jenny patterns and drew them off. I even started stitching up Sparrow.

This one is for Operation Sparrow :) I'll spend Sunday finishing this one up so it can go in the mail on Monday.

One more thing, my UFO goal for February. Another big one.

Gnome for Christmas is a pattern designed by Wendy. I tested the pattern, but haven't had a chance to finish the quilt. So my goal for A Lovely Year of Finishes is to get this baby sandwiched and quilted and bound. Yep - it's a big goal, but I want it done :)

So how are you doing on your UFOs? I am finding that one big goal and lots of little projects in between are keeping me motivated.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with creativity.

The minute I saw the picture on ALYOF, I knew it was you! Did you see the churn dash tutorial on my blog a couple of weeks ago? It's probably different size, but the steps are the same. You'll love how easy it is! Love your Sparrow start, too. Good stuff coming up!

I love your gnome for Christmas quilt and will love to see it finished up. Good luck! I am also anxious to see all of the other projects in full swing.
