Weekends

Used to be that weekends were for shopping, visiting and just generally playing. These days, it just doesn't seem there are enough hours to get all the things done that I want to finish.

Last week, I stopped at church to prepare my Gnome quilt for finishing as it is this month's UFO goal. While there, I picked up three quilts the children had made for Vacation Bible School for their community service project. I was very excited to have the older children participate and they were too.

Three quilts  bound and returned to the church.  The quilts are twin-bed sized.
This was a very gratifying project. Once those were finished, I spent time hemming a couple of new trousers for Honey Do and doing laundry. Meals were simple this weekend and with all the time at the sewing machine and hand sewing, I was glad for it.

I spent my Monday sitting behind the machine again. My Gnome for Christmas quilt is finished :) Yay Me !!!

As part of the Stitchery Club, we could sign up for a quarterly swap. I was graced with participation and today received my first swap. I was thrilled, especially since I don't have my Valentine wall hanging completed yet. My swap partner is from Magnolia, Texas. One of the criteria for the swap is to send a post card from your area. My partner made her post card, too.

My mailman didn't stop there. I also was gifted with 9-patches from my friend Dorothy in Elgin, Texas. She was extremely generous. I love all of them, especially the blue and white :)

So I gues I better get busy on my Valentine wall hanging.

Thanks for stopping by,

Wishing you a day filled with creativity.

Your post is filled with goodness! Yay, you - a finish! You should link with Richard (Link a Finish Friday - LAFF) on Friday and with Main Crush Monday, too. If you need blog addies, let me know. Love your Jenny swap - such an adorable little hanging and who can't use more needles? My favorites have become Milliner's. Or Milliners have become my favorites, I suppose I should say. LOL
