Wonderful Wednesday

It is an absolutely perfect day today.  The sun is shining brightly, there's a heavenly breeze and I have a pup who wants some lovin'.  Guess I've been too busy for his liking today.

He had a bit of a run-in with a neighbor's dog yesterday - the dog jumped two fences to get to my dogs!!!!!  Not impressed.  Mine got a good bite close to his left eye.  Fortunately, his eye was missed and for the most part he's ok.  He really didn't want to be messed with last night.  And he's not impressed with having his picture taken this morning.  He wants nothing in his face.

I straightened up the house this morning before I went to the library to download some patterns I purchased and am absolutely in love with.  More about that another time.  Then I ran to the grocery store for the supplies I needed for dinner.  You can download the recipe here.  This recipe makes two good size casseroles for 9x13 pans.  I think I'm going to try and divide it down by thirds since we are only a family of three and put one in the freezer and share one with mom.  She's having a bit of trouble getting around these days and I love that she enjoys my sharing.  Two like-minded women.

I pre-baked the chicken and it will get cut up into bite size chunks.

Then added to this bowl of rice, broccoli, cheese and broth/soup.  Then it will get baked and be ready for dinner when everyone gets home.  I'm going to use the same baking dish that I pre-baked the chicken to put the casserole in to cut down on the amount of dishes that will need cleaned up later.  We all know how much we hate just cleaning up dishes.

So basically, the afternoon is mine :)  Oh what to do with all this glorious time :)

I piddled around in the garden and will continue to do so each time the poochies need to visit the back yard.  Even though we still have a good month or month and a half of decent weather to look forward to, it is also time to start thinking about what needs to be dealt with before the frost in early-mid October.  We are already four days into September.  And we all know how fast time goes.  And there's nothing worse than having to pick up and put things away that are all wet and muddy.

And looking at this gorgeous day - it's really hard to picture anything else.

Thanks for stopping by.....

Wishing you a glorious, creative Wednesday.
