playing catch up

Have you noticed when you have a play date with your favorite person(s), that you always have to play catch up the next day on all the household chores?  That's how Tuesday is starting.  Laundry, cleaning, straightening up.  That's when you are really glad that you spend time keeping things up, so when you play it's not a big deal to get one day behind.

My day started wishing BFF a happy birthday - she's chosen to ignore today.  Unfortunately we won't be able to celebrate together.  Such is the life of a busy wife and mother.

Caught up my emails.  Look what I found.

You can find it here.  It's a freebie.  Madam Samm is a very fun person to follow on her blog.  So I took today and made this little lovely.

Like Madam Samm, I'm a visual person.  When I download a pattern from any of the blogs or Pinterst it always has photos.  I want to see what it's supposed to look like.  I do the same things with recipes.    I think it turned out pretty darn cute.  So cute, in fact, I'm going to make some more and give them as gifts.  Thanks Madam Samm.

While the dogs and I were outside playing yesterday morning, I found this lone beauty in my vegetable garden.  We're expecting rain today, so I brought into the house.  It's the last one of the season and it's really late for them.  But I sure loved the surprise.

I surprised Honey Do with lunch today.  While I was out driving, I noticed that all of a sudden all the trees are starting to turn.  I was looking last week when I went to see Mom.  I drive the highway and there's always good color happening this time of year, but the trees hadn't turned yet.  When it does, it's quick and ends up being a short season of color so you have to catch it when you can.  Every season has it's benefits and things that make it stand apart from the others.  Autumn has the colors of the trees and the cooler temperatures.  It would be really hard to give it up.

Thanks for stopping by.

Wishing you a creative day.

So glad you are pleased with the end results. It was a fun, quick project. I'm making more today to add to birthday love stash and just becuase gifts. What a great way to use up scraps too. Thanks again.

It turned out really cute didn't it. Thank you. One of my hold-overs from my retail days in a fabric store. I'm having such a good time using what I've been collecting for years.
