Thank you Cheryl for hosting FNWF....
....where heaps of us gather in our PJ's, with our chocolate (and diet coke for me) and stitching ....
And for me, it continued into Saturday :) What a gorgeous, restful day it has been after all of yesterday's stresses. There was a heavenly breeze all day. Temperatures were in the mid 70s. LOVE that. I would be happy with days like today all year round. I'd even be willing to give up snow for Christmas...... wait, did I just say that? I might have to rethink that last comment. I love snow for Christmas. Anyway......
My morning started with making breakfast for my family. Such a simple meal, but oh so yummy. Here's your recipe:
1 muffin tin
1 slice of ham for each cup
1/4 t. maple syrup for each cup
1 egg for each cup (you can leave the egg whole, or scramble)
salt and pepper
Bake at 350 degrees (F) for 20 minutes. Serve with toast or English muffins.
Super easy, super quick, super yummy.
So once I cleaned up the kitchen, I started all over again with dinner. Stuffed shells and garlic bread. This is all that's left of a 9x13 pan !!!
I love being able to do all my prep work in the morning and just pull out a pan and put it in the oven.
VERY productive afternoon. I finished the second wall hanging. What do you think?
I know it's sideways - I don't know why. I tried getting another one, but it wouldn't send. Yesterday's started out up-side down !!! I took this one side way, but rotated it before I saved it. It saved correctly, but this is what I got when I downloaded. My lack of technical savvy is showing again. I'll have to work on it. But you get the idea. I love the different shades of green, the yellow is a little light, but overall I am pleased with my results. Need to practice my miters :(
And my constant sewing companions:
So .... the "restful" part of my day. It was spent with my family, sitting around the dining room table. My husband is involved in an on-line military video game that he was giving us up-to-the-minute reports, my son was loving it. My son was working on his drawing and a small stitchery that he designed. He's quite the creative soul. He's not making a living at it, but he tries so hard and who knows - maybe someday. He still has plenty of time, he's only 12 years old.
I finished my Jenny project and pulled out a UFO BOM. I'm now officially behind on it. Time to play catch up. I want to draw the next one off so it's ready when I get caught up.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
My prayer for you is that you find it restful, too.
Sounds like the perfect way to send an evening and a day.
Wonderful wall hanging and the food looks delicious. Pretty photos of your flowers.
I'm happiest when I'm busy, so in my world it was a perfect day. Thank you.
Thank you. The wall hangings were just the thing I needed during a busy July. It's been so hot that many of the flowers came and went. Now that it's cooler and I pruned them, the roses are growing again. I'm hoping for a second season of blooms.
